If you have completed a virtual survey we will send an engineer to complete some pre-install checks before booking your install. If you have chosen a physical survey we will progress straight away to booking your install.
We install your panels and battery in 2 days. You're now ready to start saving on your bills whilst also contributing to a greener future!
Solar energy consists of both heat and light. The sun emits electromagnetic radiation, including visible light, ultraviolet (UV) light, and infrared (IR) radiation. Solar panels can convert both light and heat into usable energy.
Solar panels can still generate electricity on cloudy days, although their efficiency may be reduced. While direct sunlight produces the maximum energy output, solar panels can still convert diffuse sunlight or indirect sunlight into usable electricity.
This is a tricky one as it will depend on a few things. This includes size, efficiency, location, and the amount of sunlight it receives. If a standard solar panel is 350W, then with this amount of power, it can produce an average of 265 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year in the UK.
The calculation is based on 10x430W panels on a south-facing, 35-degree pitched roof in London, with 2% annual shade, as well as a So Battery 5kWh. Using MCS standard this would generate 3528kWh per year. Taking a typical household which is now home most of the day, and uses 2900kWh per year, the So Solar system could provide 71% of the property's energy needs.
