Welcome to So Energy, we hope your enjoying your new home! If we are the supplier for your address, we need a few details from you to set up an account. We need this even if you aren't planning to stay, although we hope you do!
To simplify the process, just fill out this form — no calls required. After submission, we’ll provide instructions for setting up your new account. At the start of the form, you'll be able to quickly check if we supply your property or not.

What we need from you
Name/email address/phone number: our main form of communication is email and you’ll use your email to login to your online account. Even if you’re only staying with us for a short time, you can use this account to view and pay off any bills and input meter reads.
First date of responsibility: this is the date that your tenancy or ownership of the property began and may not be the same as the day you move into the property. Usually found on your tenancy agreement or sale documents. This will be the date that your account is billed from.
Opening meter readings: these are the readings taken on the date of responsibility. Often included in check-in reports.
Payment details: our customers pay via Direct Debit, and we'll ask you to set one up. As we don't know what you're using, we ask you to estimate your usage as best as possible based on the size and details of the property. Don't worry, after a few months we'll get to better know your usage and we may change your Direct Debit to match this more closely.
If you've just moved in, you'll be on our So Flex tariff. After we set up your account (we'll let you know via email), you'll be able to switch to our current fixed tariff through your online account at any time.

Switching away
You may have already decided on another supplier. If you’ve only been in the property for a short period of time, once we have your details and set up your account, normally you’ll be able to switch away. We'll send you your final bill after you have switched for your time on supply.
If you’ve been in the property for a while, we may need to clear your current account balance before you switch to another supplier. You'll still need to settle your final bill after you have switched for anything left over.
Things to know
I didn’t ask to be supplied by you, why are you my supplier?
Suppliers don’t turn off the energy supply to a property. When you move into a property, it will be supplied by whoever the last occupier had. You can still choose which supplier you take on but we need your details, so we know who to bill before the supply switches away.
I’ve already tried to switch and received an objection, why is this?
It’s likely just because we don’t have any details of who you are. We need these so we know who to bill for the short period you are with us.
What if I don’t have the opening meter reads?
The previous occupier, landlord or estate agent may have provided us with your opening read already. If this didn't happen, we will start your account on an estimated read. If this read doesn't look right when looking at your meter, please take a photo of the meter and get in touch with us so we can check this for you.
